💬 Some Days, It Just Feels Harder
Today, I had one of those conversations—the kind that lingers in the soul.
My aunt and I were talking about life. About loss. About healing. And she said something that's stuck with me:
"It really does seem like the caregivers have it harder when they lose someone they cared for."
And I felt that. Deeply.
Because the truth is—grief changes you. It changes your perspective, your relationships, the very fabric of your being. When you've spent so long caring for someone else, their loss can feel like losing a part of yourself.
🌧️ Grief Isn't a Weakness
I try to grieve openly.
I try to remember generously.
I try to believe that healing comes.
But there are days—hard ones—where it feels like experiencing this loss comes with a cost that others never seem to pay. People who haven't cared may not understand, while those of us who feel deeply, who live with open hearts, are left swimming against a tide that never lets up.
And honestly?
It gets exhausting.
🙏 But It's Also Sacred
But here's the part I'm learning—slowly, tenderly, with trembling faith:
It's not a curse to be soft.
It's not a punishment to feel deeply.
It's not a weakness to keep showing up when grief tries to knock the breath out of you.
It's holy ground.
Every time I choose compassion instead of bitterness,
Every time I pick myself up from the floor and whisper, "God, I trust You,"
Every time I write through the pain,
Every time I refuse to let grief make me hard—
I am healing.
🕊️You Are Not Alone
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." – Psalm 34:18
So to the weary soul reading this—
To the one who wonders why doing the caring still hurts...
To the one who's felt overlooked, worn out, or invisible…
You are not weak.
You are not unlucky.
You are not behind.
You are seen, not forgotten.
You are beloved, not broken.
And God sees what the world misses.
Maybe grief hurts because the world was never made to reward caring.
But Heaven was.
🌿You're Still Standing
Take heart. Let the tears fall if they need to.
You are not alone in the fight to stay soft in a hard world.
You're still standing.
And that matters.
You're doing better than you think.
