My Story
My name is Dyan Bertha Fiorentino. I'm a widowed mother, a writer, and a woman who knows grief by name.
In June of 2025, I lost my husband, Mark, my partner in everything. His passing came just five years after the loss of my mother, Jackie, who was my anchor and closest friend. In the years between, I also said goodbye to my biological father, Lewis, my stepfather, Bill, and my beautiful niece, Tawni.
Each loss felt like the closing of a chapter.
And yet — somehow — I am still here. Still standing.
Not because I'm strong, but because God has carried me.
I began writing to process the pain, and found that others were walking through the same storm. What started as journal entries evolved into a book. What began as tears turned into a blog. Through grief, God gave me purpose: to help others feel less alone.
I've created grief journals, daily reflections, and videos that speak to the heart of sorrow — and point gently toward healing.
This site, Surviving Grief with Dyan, is not just about my story. It's a place for you to land, breathe, and remember that hope is still possible — even here.
If you're walking through loss, I want you to know:
You are seen.
You are not alone.
And this, right now, is not the end of your story either.
